What Wisconsin's Luke Fickell, Marcus Sedberry said about new GM Morocco Brown

MADISON – Wisconsin introduced new general manager Morocco Brown June 4.
Brown is the second general manager in Badgers history. He replaces Marcus Sedberry, who relinquished the role to become interim athletic director.

News of the hire broke on Sunday from ESPN’s Pete Thamel. It came at a critical point of the recruiting calendar. June is a big month for official visits. The Badgers had 19 players on campus last weekend and are expected to have six more this weekend.
Brown will oversee all roster management, player personnel and operations for the football program
Here is what Sedberry and Fickell said about Brown.
Sedberry spent 14 months as the football general manager and has been the athletic department's football administrator since Fickell’s arrival.
"We are thrilled about bringing an innovative and experienced leader to Wisconsin," Sedberry said in a statement. "Morocco has an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise in building rosters and personnel strategy at the NFL level. He will play a significant role in helping us continue to elevate Wisconsin Football."
Fickell, who is entering his fourth season at Wisconsin, pointed to Brown’s experience in the professional and collegiate ranks.
"Morocco is a great addition to our program and our staff is looking forward to working with him," Fickell said in a statement. "He brings a lot of NFL experience and has an eye for what it takes to excel at both the collegiate level as well as professional football. He has been evaluating college players for years and will be a strong asset to both our current roster as well as building for the future."

2023-25 – Chief personnel executive, Indianapolis Colts.
2017-22 - Director of college scouting, Indianapolis Colts.
2014-16 – Vice president of player personnel, Cleveland Browns.
2008-13 – Director of pro personnel, Washington Commanders.
2001-08 – Assistant director of pro personnel, Chicago Bears.
During Brown’s years in the front office, he was part of four division titles: Chicago (2001, ’05, ’06) and Washington (2012). The Bears also reached the Super Bowl in 2007.
