Elsewhere, AC Milan staged a stunning late turnaround to snatch all three points from their home clash against Juventus.
Corelli inspires Roma to derby victory
Maya Doms found the breakthrough in the latter stages of the first half of Saturday’s derby clash. Receiving possession in the box, the 25-year-old chopped the ball onto her left foot before slotting past Sara Cetinja. Lazio remained in the contest until substitute Alice Corelli doubled the lead in the 72nd minute. The forward neatly controlled Manuela Giugliano’s lofted pass and then rifled a fierce shot into the far corner to score her first goal of the season. Corelli then turned provider, sliding a ball through for Alayah Pilgrim to guide home.
There was still time left for Margherita Monnecchi to curl a looping shot over Rachele Baldi, but the late consolation did little to dampen Roma’s spirits. The victory sends them into the break as the league leaders, while Lazio are languishing in 10th spot with just a point to their name.

Late Milan turnaround stuns Juventus
Sunday’s clash between AC Milan and Juventus remained goalless until Martin Lenzini found the breakthrough in the 80th minute. Alba Redondo saw her initial effort saved by Sandra Estévez, but she kept her composure to control the rebound and square it for Lenzini to stroke home her first Serie A goal since the 2022/23 season. As it proved, Juventus’ lead lasted just a matter of minutes.
Park Soo-jeong played an inch-perfect ball for her fellow substitute Thea Kyvåg to drive a low shot through the goalkeeper’s legs. The South Korea international grabbed another assist just two minutes later as Milan completed a dramatic turnaround. Monica Renzotti collected Park’s pass on the right flank, moved into the box and then cleverly chopped onto her left foot before firing into the far corner to snatch all three points.
Como 1907 and Inter maintain perfect records
Como 1907 backed up their first-ever Serie A win with a hard-fought away victory over Napoli. Tessa Wullaert opened the scoring in the 10th minute, controlling the ball on the edge of the box before curling it beyond the outstretched goalkeeper. However, the visitors soon saw their lead cut out in unfortunate circumstances. Melissa Bellucci’s fierce shot cannoned against the crossbar before it bounced off the goalkeeper and into the net.
With the scoreline level at the break, Tecla Pettenuzzo’s overhead kick looked destined to find the net early in the second period, only for Emilie Haavi to pull off a spectacular, acrobatic clearance. Haavi’s intervention took on greater importance when Riola Xhemaili won the game in the final minutes of stoppage time. The Switzerland international tapped in from close range after Beatric Beretta pushed Wullaert’s shot against the post.

Like Roma and Como 1907, Inter boast a 100 percent record after two rounds of matches. After playing out a goalless first half, a handball infringement presented Inter with the chance to break the deadlock from the penalty spot just past the hour-mark. Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir stepped up to drive a low spot-kick out of Astrid Gilardi’s reach.
However, there was a different outcome when Inter were awarded their second penalty of the game for another handball in the box. Gilardi ultimately came out on top to deny Vilhjálmsdóttir a brace. Fortunately for the Iceland international, Haley Bugeja soon doubled Inter’s advantage to make sure of all three points.
Hornemann double fires Ternana to victory
Meanwhile, Ternana claimed their first Serie A win of the season thanks to Sofie Hornemann’s brace. The 24-year-old opened the scoring with a composed sixth-minute penalty. However, Ternana failed to make it through to break before Gaia Distefano netted a close-range effort to restore parity. But they soon found themselves back in front, with Hornemann heading from a deep free-kick within seven minutes of the restart. This time, the visitors managed to hold on to their narrow advantage to seal three precious points.
Elsewhere, Fiorentina came out on top in their clash against Sassuolo. Defender Guro Bergsvand opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark, powering a header in from Sofie Bredgaard’s inviting corner. Bredgaard then put her own name on the scoresheet to double Fiorentina’s lead before half time. The attacker drove into the box from the right flank and showed great precision to slot her low shot into the far corner to score what proved to be the final goal of the contest.
