"World Supercross has today announced, with regret, that the 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship season will conclude with immediate effect," the series announced in a news release.

Two weeks ago, WSX announced they would cancel the British GP to seek additional funding. It would appear those efforts have not yet had the desired effect.

In the single event run this season, Cooper Webb won in the 450 class at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, British Columbia, Canada. Max Anstie won on a 250.

Jason Anderson (450s) and Anstie won the 2025 championships.

The WSX Series launched in 2022 with two rounds and a vision of sending riders around the world at series expense.

According to the release, advanced discussions remain regarding the future of the series.

Argentina, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand were to be the final rounds of what was announced as a six-round calendar.

"The decision has not been taken lightly," the release continued. "We continue to believe strongly in the series, its global potential and the opportunity to build on the foundations established to date. We remain optimistic that the ongoing discussions will reach a positive conclusion and provide a strong platform for the future of the championship."
