The UFC President has started attracting a lot of attention with Zuffa Boxing, which he launched alongside Turki Al-Sheikh. The company follows a similar model to the UFC and has already signed high-profile boxers like Shakur Stevenson and Conor Benn.

White was part of the group that bought UFC for $2 million in 2001, and since then, he has helped elevate the brand globally. However, in his recent appearance on the Diary With the CEO podcast, he revealed that boxing was his ‘first love’ and spoke of plans on taking over the sport.

White calls out Eddie Hearn

While White’s Zuffa Boxing has been putting up high-profile fights regularly since its inception, Eddie Hearn is also orchestrating one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.

The two are currently involved in a huge public row over the production involvement in the upcoming Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight.

“First of all, boxing was my first love and I knew the sport was broken and it started to decline and I just know how to fix it, I know what to do,” White said on the podcast.

“You and I should get together in five years and talk about boxing again and watch what we do. Watch what we do in the next five years. I’m already two years ahead of where I thought I’d be because the guys that are doing it right now are just so bad at doing it.”

He then went off on Eddie Hearn and his involvement in boxing, even criticising him for hurting the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight.

“Eddie Hearn is weak. His dad built that business; his dad is the guy, the more I get deeper into this thing, his dad is the guy,” White added.

“Frank Warren hasn’t said anything, he has remained silent through this whole thing, and I saw an interview and I thought Frank is the guy. I’m not saying this to s*** on Eddie; I don’t dislike him but he’s just not the guy… He’s just responding to every little thing, nobody has done more to hurt the AJ vs Fury fight than Eddie Hearn.”

The AJ vs Fury fight is one of the biggest fights in recent British boxing history, but the controversy surrounding production and promotion is also grabbing headlines. This shows that the fight is going to be electrifying as a lot has been said already. Hearn is yet to respond to White’s comments, but more is expected to happen outside the ring until the fight, which is set to take place on December 11.
