Broncos cornerbacks Pat Surtain (ankle) and Riley Moss (ribs) both went down in the first half, and wide receiver Pat Bryant (ankle) was carted off the field in the third quarter. Denver coach Sean Payton did not have an immediate update on the three players during his post-game press conference.
"Well, I'm not going to give you any report on the injuries because I don't know [an update]," Payton said. "I would say it probably impacts the defense when both your corners are down coming into the second half, and then with Pat [Bryant]. So, nothing right now [to report]. I mean, I just asked the same question coming off the field to (VP of Player Health and Performance) Beau [Lowery]."
Payton is scheduled to have a conference call with reporters on Monday morning, and there might be more news on the statuses of Surtain, Moss and Bryant then. When asked specifically about Bryant after the game, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said he knows the receiver will be "aggressive in rehab." Whether that's a bad early sign for Bryant's status or merely a boilerplate response. More updates should arrive within the next 48 hours.
