  • Anyone who has watched UW play football this year has seen that the rush offense is not up to par. The running back room has been obliterated by injuries and the young offensive line has failed to mesh in the zone blocking scheme. Headed into conference play, the rush offense is not Jedd Fisch’s biggest concern, according to the Seattle Times. We certainly saw against lesser competition in Eastern Washington that the Dawgs were able to maintain offensive control with short passes to approximate the function of a run game. Whether that same approach will work against a deeper and more talented opponent remains to be seen.

  • I have two siblings who attended the University of Minnesota. They were also the closest 1-A (now FBS) football program to where I grew up, so I will always have a soft spot for the Gophers, even if I think PJ Fleck is a bit gimmicky.   • On the recruiting front, Dawgman has an updated recruiting blog ($), including a possible Woof Watch for one of UW’s top targets. Edge Jalanie George is one of the top prospects in the entire country and on the cusp of five-star status. He is scheduled to commit on October 1 and all signs point to UW being in a great spot to land a potential centerpiece fo the 2028 recruiting class.

  • You don’t have to wait until (extremely late) Saturday to watch Husky sports. The Women’s Soccer team has a marquee matchup on the road against Michigan. Both teams are rated in the top 20 nationally and the match will start at 4 PM PT on Thursday.
