The veteran wide receiver was traded to the Houston Texans on Monday in exchange for a 2028 seventh-round draft pick and second-year safety Jaylen Reed. It was a move that effectively put an end to Boutte's three-year tenure in New England.
"Thank Kayshon for everything over the last four years, or three years that he was here" Wolf said. "Showed tremendous growth and progress as a person and a player, and excited for him and his opportunity.
The Patriots are still loaded at the receiver position after landing A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs in free agency. They also still have DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III on the roster. It's a talented room that should help give the Patriots' offense an edge in 2026.
As for Boutte, he will try to compete for more snaps in a Texans offense that lost Jayden Higgins to a season-ending injury. He will have to work hard at learning an entirely new offense and building a connection with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.
