Toronto Police first responded to what ended up being a sprawling crime scene on Monday just after 3:15 p.m. in the Victoria Park Ave.-Hwy. 401 area, where a man was found with gunshot wounds near an apartment building on Terraview Blvd.

They said the man, who has since been identified as Levon Byers, 32, of Toronto, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops then received a shooting call in the Victoria Park-Sheppard Ave. E. area, about 1 km north of the original crime scene, where a man who had been operating a vehicle was found near a TD Bank branch with gunshot wounds before being transported to a hospital in critical condition.

A firearm was allegedly found in the vehicle, police said, and the man is now in serious but stable condition.
