Motor City Golf Club won't play its matches in Detroit.
But the city skyline still figures to play a prominent role in the upcoming seasons of TGL and WTGL.

The indoor golf leagues recently unveiled new hole designs for TGL and WTGL, and among them is a 591-yard par 5 called "Belle of the Ball." The hole — which isn't real, but, man, it'd sure be cool if it was — tees off on Belle Isle, and finishes on an island green, with the Detroit skyline as the backdrop.
The Belle Isle hole is one of 37 custom (and fictional) holes that will be used on a rotating basis in matches during the upcoming seasons of the simulator-golf leagues that were founded, in part, by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlory.
WTGL starts its season this weekend, and TGL starts its season in December.
Here is TGL's official description of the Belle Isle hole:
Set on Belle Isle in the heart of the Detroit River, this par 5 begins with a signature landmark as the aiming point from the back tee and Canada stretching across the horizon in the distance.
Bunkers split the center of the fairway, forcing players to choose their route from the start. The wider left side provides the safer target but leaves a long way home and makes reaching the (green) in two difficult. The narrow right side offers far less room for error, but a well-placed drive is rewarded with an opportunity to attack in two.
After the tee shot, the hole turns back toward Detroit, bringing the downtown skyline into view and setting the stage for a dramatic approach into the Motor City.
The inaugural WTGL season starts Sunday, Nov. 8, with Motor City Golf Club making its debut Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 8 p.m. against Los Angeles Golf Club. That match will be televised on ION. (Full schedule HERE.) The Motor City roster includes Lexi Thompson, Brooke Henderson, Jeeno Thitikul, Ronni Yi and Albane Valenzuela.
The third TGL season starts Sunday, Dec. 27, and Motor City Golf Club, the league's first expansion franchise, will play in the season's first match, against Boston Common Golf at 1 p.m. That match will be televised on ESPN. (Full schedule HERE.) The Motor City roster includes Brooks Koepka, Si Woo Kim, Jackson Koivun, Jake Knapp and Bud Cauley.
The Motor City Golf Club franchises are owned by an investor group led by Michael Hamp and Peter Hamp, the sons of Detroit Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp. Sheila Ford Hamp and husband, Steve, also are investors in the franchises, as is Denver Broncos owner Rob Walton.
The TGL and WTGL matches all are played at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
