The Indianapolis Colts have finally become sellers at the NFL trade deadline. Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon has initiated a rebuild by firing GM Chris Ballard. They have since traded away DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson, and rumours suggest that Jonathan Taylor will be next.
Taylor has been their big star for a few years now as one of the league’s best running backs. Although there were suggestions that they may not move on from him, it seems more likely as the trade deadline grows closer. And apparently, interest in acquiring him is growing across the league as well.
Adam Schefter says one team being interested in Jonathan Taylor surprised him, predicts trade deadline ‘curve balls’
Trade speculation is possibly one of the most popular things in the world of sports. Fans love to discuss moves that might happen, even if most of them generally never do. And nothing quite shakes up the ecosystem of the league like an unexpected trade.
While discussing what fans have to look forward to at this deadline, Schefter hinted at a potentially shocking trade for JT.
“I think there’ll be a couple of curve balls. Like last night, I’m on the phone with some people. I’m hearing some names that I’ve never heard before. Never heard,” Schefter said. “I had a team text through this morning about Jonathan Taylor. I’m like, ‘This team, really? Wow.’ So that’s the point. That’s the great and exciting part of the deadline.”
The deadline is on Tuesday, November 10, which means there are about four days left for teams to figure out if they can somehow improve themselves. As we head into the second half of the regular season, it’s all starting to get quite exciting.
