Injuries have hit this position group this season. Caleb Ransaw was placed on injured reserve after Week 4, while Eric Murray suffered a season-ending elbow injury in Sunday's win over the Colts.
Antonio Johnson is also working through an ankle injury, although the Jaguars are hopeful he can return soon.
When Johnson is available, he will, of course, continue to start. Also on the roster is Rayuan Lane, Kaevon Merriweather, and Jalen Huskey. From a strictly depth standpoint, an addition here could be needed, especially in Anthony Campanile's defense, which often utilizes three-safety looks. But in addition to that, adding more experience to this room wouldn't be a bad idea either.
With the Nov. 10 trade deadline near, we recently took a look at the Jaguars' salary cap situation and their 2027 draft capital, which will be important factors in determining if a deal can be made.
With insight from Spotrac, here are a few potential trade targets at the safety position.
Budda Baker, Cardinals
Baker is a very experienced player and has filled a do-it-all role in the Arizona Cardinals' secondary.
Jessie Bates, Falcons
Bates has had very strong ball production over his career, totaling 30 interceptions and 46 pass breakups since entering the NFL in 2018.
Amani Hooker, Titans
Hooker is still under contract through 2028, so perhaps the Titans don't want to trade him. Tennessee may also not want to send Hooker to a division rival. But if they're willing to make a deal he could be an option for the Jaguars.
