Just one day after popping in to visit the Cincinnati Bengals after a nearby rally, Vance, an Ohio native, was giving another public address on Thursday in support of gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and United States Senate candidate Jon Husted, when he took a moment to share a funny aside with the attendees about just how much sports mean to his family
“My 6-year-old son has tried to implement a rule in the Vance household that just like ‘Daddy’s not allowed to say the F-word,'” Vance said, before admitting that he sometimes slips and curses because he was “raised by a grandmother who cursed like a sailor.”
Vance, a die-hard Ohio State Buckeys fan, then shared the new word his son is trying to make illegal in the Vance household.
Forget the F-word. Vice President JD Vance says his 6-year-old son has a completely different word he wants outlawed at home.
“My 6-year-old son has tried to implement a rule in the Vance household that just like Daddy’s not allowed to say the F-word,” Vance shares, admitting he sometimes slips up because he was “raised by a grandmother who cursed like a sailor.”
“He has tried to tell my wife that we are not allowed to say the M-word in our house anymore.”
The word? “Michigan,” a nod to the family’s Ohio State fandom and the fierce rivalry between the two schools.

“He has tried to tell my wife that we are not allowed to say the M-word in our house anymore,” Vance said, with the word in question being Michigan.
The Michigan Wolverines-Buckeyes rivalry has an argument as the most intense rivalry in all of sports, and if Vance’s son is anything to judge by, it’ll stay that way for generations.
