Angel Reese predicted her WNBA Finals moment almost a year ago. Now, the Atlanta Dream star has made that prediction a reality.

Atlanta defeated the New York Liberty 85-83 on Friday, completing a 3-0 semifinal sweep. The victory sent the Dream to their first WNBA Finals since 2013.

Reese celebrated the achievement by recalling a post she shared on Oct. 10, 2025. She had written three words on X: “manifesting the finals>>>.”

After Atlanta secured its place in the championship series, Reese reacted to her old post with a simple message: “364 DAYS LATER…”

Speaking to an ESPN courtside reporter, Reese explained what the milestone meant to her.

“I manifested this,” Reese said. “When I came to Atlanta, I knew what I was getting. This team has poured so much into me. We’ve poured so much into each other.”

She added, “I posted and tweeted on 10-10-25 that I was manifesting the finals, and this is my moment. I’m supposed to be here. I thank God for this moment.”

Angel Reese credits Atlanta for making the dream possible

Reese also explained why she made the original post while watching the Las Vegas Aces celebrate their championship last October.

“I was watching the game,” Reese said to the media. “I’ve sat at home for the last two years and watched it.”

She recalled texting Kahleah Copper about wanting an opportunity to compete in the playoffs. Reese credited Atlanta for believing in her and helping her reach this stage.

“I manifest a lot of things. I think it’s important to speak positives into your life, positive into your team,” Reese said. “But this is all God.

“I’m just so thankful and I’m blessed to be able to be in a situation a lot of people wish they were here and I’m not gonna take this moment for granted. I’m here for a reason, we’re all here for a reason.”

Angel Reese on why she tweeted this the same night the Aces won the title: "I was watching the game…I’ve sat at home for the last two years and watched it. And I kept saying, I texted (Kahleah Copper) and I was like…give me one game in the playoffs and have an opportunity to come to Atlanta. Them wanting me in Atlanta and being able to push me every day to help me get to this very moment it’s really a shout out to them. I manifest a lot of things. I think it’s important to speak positives into your life, positive into your team. But this is all God. I’m just so thankful and I’m blessed to be able to be in a situation a lot of people wish they were here and I’m not gonna take this moment for granted. I’m here for a reason, we’re all here for a reason. In chapel today they talked about the moment, being able to maximize the moment. And we have a very praying crew group. 8 out of the 12 of our players go to chapel, and we take that seriously. So I’m just really happy about the girls that are just in that locker room. It’s just really a blessing to be around them"

The 24-year-old finished Friday’s decisive victory with 22 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Her performance helped Atlanta complete its unbeaten 5-0 run through the 2026 playoffs.

Reese also highlighted the team’s strong spiritual connection, noting that eight of its 12 players attend chapel.

“In chapel today they talked about the moment, being able to maximize the moment,” Reese said. “And we have a very praying crew group… and we take that seriously. So I’m just really happy about the girls that are just in that locker room. It’s just really a blessing to be around them”

Now, Atlanta faces the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Finals, beginning October 17.
