LB sets Dolphins rookie record in loss vs. Vikings

· Yahoo Sports

The Miami Dolphins fell to the Minnesota Vikings 15-10 on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 4, which dropped the team to 0-4 to start their campaign.

While the loss is one that most players in Miami's locker room will want to forget, it was a great performance for Dolphins linebacker Jacob Rodriguez. The second-round pick continues to be an absolute menace in the middle of the defense, stuffing runs and making weapons think twice about going over the middle.

On Sunday, Rodriguez recorded 18 tackles, which, according to Stathead, is a new Dolphins rookie record. The previous record was held by Zach Thomas, who recorded 16 in a Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals in 1996.

Interestingly, Rodriguez recorded 14 tackles in his NFL debut in Week 1, so now he has two of the top three efforts for any Dolphins rookie in history, despite playing just four games. That's an incredible stat.
