Case Keenum Fantasy Week 4 Start or Sit: A Great Monday Night I’m Not Buying Again

The Jets come to Chicago on Sunday with Keenum 33rd among quarterbacks in PFN’s Week 4 rankings after a Monday night with a little bit of everything: 70.6% completions, 247 yards, two touchdown passes and a QB sneak score on a retro design. My guess is that most of it was a single-week spike in the Ben Johnson ecosystem, built on fadeaway passes, defensive mistakes and an Eagles team that clearly wasn’t prepared. New York gets a full week to study a scheme we now have data on, while the short week limits sweeping changes on the other side. Great story, but I’m not using it as predictive in any way.

But how much of it was a single-week spike in the Ben Johnson ecosystem?

I’m going to guess most of it.

There were fadeaway passes and defensive mistakes. Heck, there seemed to be a level of underestimation at play. I think the Eagles have a better defense than the Jets, but they clearly weren’t prepared, something that shouldn’t be an issue in this spot for the visitors who have a full week to prepare for an offensive scheme that we now have data on with limited time to make sweeping changes by way of the short week.

Week 3 was a great story. I’m just not using it as predictive in any way.
