I’m going to put the thread up early, we are going to a feed the hungry thing and I’m not sure we’ll be back before the first pitch, because we’ll likely be hungry for lunch after. But I’ll look for a place that will have the game on.

I am liking the SB Nation app for Game Threads. It is massively better than following the Threads on phone before the app. It isn’t as good as being on the computer, but it is bad. I do have to find how to block the notifications, they come too fast, but that’s an issue that I’m sure I can fix.

Last game of the season. Bad baseball is better than no baseball, so I’m going to miss it. But we have playoffs ahead. A few days of cheering against the Yankees.

Yesterday’s game was a masterclass in poor defense. I’m not used to that. Poor hitting sure. Inconsistent pitching, we’ve seen that. But just bad defense? Not very often.

Today’s game is likely George Springer’s last game with the Jays. I think the odds are very slim that they bring him back. Springer deserves the ovations he is going to get today.

And Max Scherzer will pitch on short rest. I would think that this is his last time in a Jays’ uniform too.

And, of course, there are others who won’t be back next year, guys who will be traded or let go over the winter. I think the outfield will look different next year.

Springer had a few things to say to Blue Jays fans:

The Jays put up their line for game #162 already. Vlad sits, Springer is at the top of the order. Charles is in the cleanup spot and Davis is in the lineup.
