The fantasy football wide receiver landscape is already producing some unexpected names in 2026. Now, Week 3 offers managers several opportunities to find valuable production outside the traditional group of established stars. For those dealing with injuries, disappointing early-season production or difficult matchups, a few receivers offer different paths to fantasy relevance. Some provide target volume, others bring big-play upside, and one could be particularly valuable in PPR formats. With Week 3 lineups nearing lock, fantasy football managers should take a closer look before deciding which under-the-radar receivers deserve a spot in their starting lineups.

Parker Washington, JAC (vs. NE)
Mandatory Credit: Melina Myers-Imagn ImagesWashington has quickly gone from a peripheral option to one of the most heavily targeted players in Jacksonville’s offense. Through the first two weeks, he has commanded 18 targets, turning them into 12 receptions for 181 yards. That level of involvement is impossible for fantasy football managers to ignore.
Even more encouraging is that Washington has been productive despite Jacksonville’s other offensive weapons. To date, he has outproduced Brian Thomas Jr, Jakobi Meyers, and Travis Hunter combined in receiving yardage.

Washington’s Week 2 performance against Denver was particularly impressive. He finished with 98 receiving yards. That showed that his production was not simply the result of facing a favorable defense. His ability to create separation from the slot has become a valuable component of Jacksonville’s offense, particularly on third downs.
Now the Jaguars return home to face New England. From a fantasy perspective, the most important number is still 18 targets. Volume is one of the strongest indicators of sustainable receiver production. Washington is already seeing the kind of workload fantasy managers typically associate with higher-ranked players.
Christian Watson, GB (@ ATL)
Watson represents a very different type of streaming option. Sure, Washington’s appeal is built primarily on volume. However, Watson’s value comes from the possibility of explosive plays. Green Bay travels to Atlanta for a matchup that should provide favorable conditions for the Packers to attack vertically. Watson remains one of Jordan Love’s most dangerous perimeter weapons. That’s particularly true when Green Bay wants to stretch a defense and generate chunk yardage.
The Falcons’ defensive approach could create opportunities for Watson to attack outside. If Atlanta commits additional resources to slowing Green Bay’s running game, Love could have opportunities to isolate Watson against individual coverage. That is where Watson’s fantasy football ceiling becomes particularly interesting.
For fantasy managers who are comfortable accepting a slightly lower floor in exchange for substantial upside, Watson is an excellent last-minute option. A couple of successful deep connections could quickly turn him from a streaming FLEX into one of the week’s biggest fantasy surprises.
Tetairoa McMillan, CAR (@ CLE)
McMillan enters Week 3 after Carolina’s passing attack showed significant improvement in Week 2. Bryce Young played with greater confidence. McMillan’s ability to win contested catches gives the Panthers a valuable option when defenses attempt to compress the field.
The road matchup with Cleveland is not necessarily an easy one. That’s particularly true against a Browns defense capable of generating pressure. Still, that pressure could actually increase McMillan’s importance in the passing game.
That gives McMillan an intriguing fantasy floor. He does not need Carolina to dominate offensively to remain involved. If the Browns generate pressure, Young may repeatedly look for a reliable boundary target capable of winning contested situations. McMillan’s red-zone potential further enhances his appeal. Touchdowns can be difficult to predict. Still, receivers who are consistently targeted near the goal line naturally have greater opportunities to score.
Ladd McConkey, LAC (@ BUF)
William Liang-Imagn ImagesMcConkey may have one of the clearest paths to volume among the four receivers listed here. The Chargers travel to Buffalo for a matchup that could quickly develop into a high-scoring contest. If the Bills’ offense forces Los Angeles to keep pace, quarterback Justin Herbert could be asked to throw frequently.
That scenario would benefit McConkey significantly. His role as a reliable underneath option makes him especially appealing in PPR formats. Even if he does not produce a massive number of explosive plays, a steady stream of receptions can provide a strong fantasy football floor.
The matchup also offers touchdown upside. If the Chargers are forced into multiple trips into scoring range, McConkey should have opportunities to convert his target volume into more than just short receptions. A performance around 70 receiving yards with a touchdown would make him a highly useful fantasy streamer. The potential for a larger target total also gives him an even higher ceiling.
Outlook
The four receivers offer distinctly different fantasy football profiles. Washington is the volume-driven option. Watson is the high-risk, high-reward play. McMillan provides a blend of target volume and touchdown potential. McConkey offers PPR-friendly profile.
The choice ultimately depends on the needs of each fantasy roster. Managers seeking the safest target-based floor should prioritize Washington or McConkey. Those chasing a home-run play can look toward Watson. McMillan offers a potentially strong combination of opportunity and scoring upside. Each has a realistic pathway to meaningful fantasy production. Identifying that opportunity before kickoff could provide the edge fantasy managers need.
