Pacers' Latest News Gives More Reason for Tyrese Haliburton Excitement

The Indiana Pacers are gearing up for the start of the 2026-27 NBA season. With opening night scheduled for October 21 on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans, fans are just over a month away from seeing star point guard Tyrese Haliburton back on the court.

Haliburton missed all of last season as he continues recovering from the torn Achilles he suffered during Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He is back to full health and is ready to resume playing.
As the season continues coming up quickly, the Pacers have been given another reason to be excited about Haliburton's return.
ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel has shared a new update about how Haliburton has been looking. It sounds like Indiana will have a full version of Haliburton on the court game one.
"Tyrese Haliburton returns from his Achilles injury, and the word surrounding the Indiana Pacers is that he looks better than ever," Siegel wrote.
Assuming that report ends up being true, the Pacers are going to have a chance to be an NBA Finals contender once again. They still have much of the same core together that they had two years ago in the Finals.
Pascal Siakam remains as Haliburton's number two, with Andrew Nembhard and Aaron Nesmith still on the team as well. Obi Toppin and T.J. McConnell remain as key contributors. However, there are two new faces on the team who could take Indiana to the next level.
Kevin Pritchard and the front office made an aggressive trade before the deadline last year to acquire star center Ivica Zubac from the Los Angeles Clippers. In free agency this offseason, the Pacers were able to land veteran wing Kelly Oubre Jr.
Zubac will be replacing Myles Turner from the NBA Finals team. Oubre will replace Bennedict Mathurin, who was one of the pieces traded to the Clippers for Zubac.
Both players have a chance to be upgrades over what Indiana had two years ago.
Indiana cannot wait for the start of the 2026-27 NBA season. After the team went 19-63 last season, the Pacers are ready to get that bad taste out of their mouth.
Only time will tell what Haliburton actually ends up looking like when the regular season arrives. For now, it's all good news coming out of Indiana.
