Paige Spiranac tees off for the 15th hole during the AREA 313 Celebrity Challenge of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Tuesday, June 25, 2019.

Paige Spiranac apparently does not need to be playing golf to become one of the biggest stories in golf.

Visit grenadier.co.za for more information.

She just needs a microphone and a camera.

Spiranac was part of the Grass League’s Summer Grind broadcast this week, and naturally, the internet paid attention. The event ran Sept. 4-6 at Goat Hill Park and aired on Golf Channel.

That is becoming the Paige Spiranac formula.

Put her around a golf tournament and suddenly people who weren’t watching are watching.

Spiranac has turned herself into one of the biggest personalities in golf without needing to win a tournament.

That’s impressive.

She has more than 4 million Instagram followers and roughly 480,000 YouTube subscribers, giving her an audience most traditional golf personalities would love to have.

And she keeps finding ways to use it.

The Grass League appearance was another example.

The tournament had plenty of talented golfers competing, but Spiranac’s presence created an entirely different level of online attention.

That is not an accident.

She understands modern sports better than most.

Golf needs personalities who can make casual fans care about what is happening outside the leaderboard.

Spiranac has been doing exactly that for years.

Now she’s becoming increasingly comfortable on the broadcasting side, too.

Paige Spiranac isn’t just a golf influencer anymore.

She’s becoming part of the golf entertainment machine.

And honestly, the sport is better for it.
