We have a monumental milestone in the countdown to kickoff, No. 7 and the greatest to ever wear the number: Ben Roethlisberger.
There's very few players in the Steel City as beloved as Big Ben, who was drafted by the Steelers with the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Roethlisberger wasted little time cementing himself as an impact player, leading Pittsburgh to 13 straight victories, as well as setting an NFL record for the most regular-season wins by a rookie quarterback.
Big Ben played a huge role in helping the Steelers win their fifth and sixth Super Bowl championship, as well as becoming the youngest quarterback to ever win a Super Bowl at age 23.
In his 18-year career, Roethlisberger was a two-time NFL passing yards leader, six-time Pro Bowler, tied for most games with a perfect passer rating with four, tied for the most wins by a rookie quarterback with 13, and owns the career record for the most 500-yard passing games with four. Additionally, his career 64,088 passing yards and 211 touchdown passes rank No. 1 in franchise history, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that he is truly the greatest Steeler ever to wear No. 7.
