Pio Esposito has signed a new contract with Inter until 2032, describing the renewal as an emotional milestone while revealing how much Cristian Chivu has influenced his development.

The striker has been rewarded with a long-term extension after an impressive period since returning to the Nerazzurri first team, where he has already lifted two trophies and scored 10 goals.
Speaking to Inter’s official channels, with quotes via CalcioMercato.com, Pio Esposito admitted the significance of committing his future to the club was not lost on him.
“It is certainly something very emotional,” he said. “When I got into the car to come here, I had butterflies in my stomach.
“I feel that it is an important milestone for my life and my career, although it is absolutely not a finishing point. It is a starting point from which to continue working like this.
“It is also recognition for the work done up to now, so I need to continue working like this.”

Pio Esposito: ‘Chivu always had great faith in me’
Pio Esposito has known Chivu since his early days in the Inter academy, having worked with the Romanian coach at Under-14 level before being reunited with him in the Primavera and eventually the senior team.
The striker believes that relationship has played a significant role in his development.
“Very much. I also did the Under-14s with Mister Chivu,” he explained. “He has always had great esteem and faith in me, so meeting him again in the first team was extremely important for me.
“He gave me an opportunity that I had dreamed of all my life. I am happy that so far I have managed to repay his faith in me, and I hope and want to continue doing so.”
The forward also refused to put a specific target on his goalscoring numbers, instead focusing on continued improvement.
“Both in terms of trophies and statistics, the important thing is to try not to stop, never be satisfied and always grow,” he added.
“I don’t like giving a precise number of goals or statistics, but the objective is always to improve myself, as a player and also as a person.”

Pio Esposito sends message to Inter fans
Having returned to the first-team environment, Pio Esposito has quickly developed a strong connection with the Inter supporters and was keen to thank them for their welcome.
“I thank them first of all because from the first day I returned to the first team, I was welcomed in an incredible way,” he said.
“I say thank you to them. I am very happy to continue this adventure together.”
The new contract keeps Pio Esposito at Inter until 2032, with the club now hoping the striker can continue developing into a key figure for the Nerazzurri in the years ahead.
