The University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball released its 2026-27 schedule on August 28.
The season begins on November 2 at Liberty Arena where the Screaming Eagles will take on Murray State. USI lost that matchup by two points last year in Evansville last November — a buzzer-beating layup decided it.

Perhaps the highlight of the 31-game schedule is USI playing host to Louisville on November 8. Just one of 15 home games, but one the program hopes brings excitement to Evansville.
In a press release, Screaming Eagles coach Rick Stein acknowledged the strength of this season’s schedule. Including Louisville, they will play four games against Power Four opponents in the opening month: home to Kansas State on November 5, at Indiana on November 22 and at Michigan on November 30.
“(The four teams) are consistently in the top 25 and even top 10 in the country,” Stein said. “As well as mid-major programs that are winning their conferences or at the top year in and year out. We built this non-conference schedule to help us prepare for an extremely tough Ohio Valley Conference schedule beginning on December 31.”
Similar to the men’s, OVC play begins at home against Tennessee State. Conference play scheduling will be in alignment between both programs.
It all leads to March 3-6 at the Ford Center where the OVC tournament will be held. USI made the semifinal round last season before losing to runner-up Lindenwood.
The top eight teams in the OVC’s regular season standings will feature in the tournament held in Evansville.
