Kendrick Perkins believes the Boston Celtics should be very worried about LeBron James and Jaylen Brown next season.

The Celtics traded Brown to the 76ers this off-season, which then helped to convince James to join them in free agency.

Philadelphia now have one of the strongest starting fives in the league and have even been tipped to win the title.

If the 76ers were to lift the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, Perkins thinks it would haunt the Celtics forever.

Kendrick Perkins believes a Philadelphia 76ers title would haunt Boston Celtics

Kendrick Perkins cannot believe his former team has facilitated Jaylen Brown and LeBron James playing for the 76ers.

If they help Philadelphia end their 43-year NBA title drought, the Celtics will always be remembered as the team that made it happen.

“Every time I think about someone talking about the 76ers possibly winning the championship, I always think about the Boston Celtics and Brad Stevens,” Perkins said.

“This is going to be tied to them for the history of the NBA for the simple fact that not only did you trade an All-NBA player to a rival team, but that was the deciding factor to land arguably the greatest player ever, who is still playing at an All-NBA level, and they could win the championship.

“If the 76ers go on to win the NBA championship with LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, it will stain the Boston Celtics forever.”

The 76ers’ stars are not guaranteed to build chemistry, and Joel Embiid, in particular, is a huge injury concern.

However, they have as much chance as any other Eastern Conference team of winning the championship next season.
