Fabrizio Romano’s latest update says Barça have made an opening bid of €45 million, with City indicating they want more in the initial talks.

Other reliable sources in Spain say Barça believe a deal will be reached for €50 million plus add-ons, with the total package likely around 60-65 million.

The two clubs maintain excellent relations given the fact City CEO Ferran Soriano comes from Barcelona, and City will not put up too much of a fight since they know Rodri really wants the move.

Barça are “very confident” they will get a deal done and Rodri’s agent has already informed Real Madrid of his client’s desire to join the Catalans according to Romano, so Los Blancos have dropped out of the race.

The Blaugrana want to close a deal this weekend so talks are likely to advance fast, with a resolution possibly coming as early as Friday.
