Ivory Coast winger Diomande, 19, missed the start of the camp due to illness and club officials had insisted on his presence in Saalfelden once he was healthy again.

Sources told dpa that talks with Real are continuing, but without a breakthrough yet.

Real reportedly had a first offer of €105 million ($121 million) rejected by Leipzig, who are said to want a guaranteed sum of €120 million. Another alleged issue is a dispute between Diomande's past and present agent companies.

Diomande came to Leipzig a year ago for €20 million from Spain's Leganes. He impressed with 12 goals and nine assists and also caught the eye playing for Ivory Coast at the recent World Cup.

Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool were reportedly also interested in him.

Leipzig start the season on August 22 at fourth-division Eintracht Trier in the first round of the German Cup. Their Bundesliga opener is a week later at home against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
