The Chicago White Sox have been one of the most fun teams to watch this year. Out of seemingly nowhere, they have come out as a real threat to win the American League Central.

Some were certain they would lose their momentum when Munetaka Murakami hit the IL on May 30th, but they haven't. They've had others step up and are still playing great baseball.

And last week, they had a great opportunity to do some damage in the division with a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians and then one against the Kansas City Royals over the weekend.

The White Sox played three close games against the Guardians, in which they were able to win two of those three games. The only one they lost was an extra-innings game where they just couldn't plate a run in the 10th inning to tie it.

After that, the offense really woke up. They beat the Royals 22-1, the first time they had scored that many runs in a game since 1970. They were also able to win the second game, but lost the third, making for another 2-1 series win.

With this, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has pushed the hite Sox from No. 13 to No. 9 in his latest power rankings piece.

"A 1-5 road trip against the Yankees and Tigers briefly knocked the white Sox out of the top 10, but they righted the ship in their return to Rate Field last week where they are 28-14 on the year. On the flip side, they are 15-25 on the road where they will play 13 of their next 19 games, so the next few weeks could make or break an unexpectedly competitive season."

Now, fans should be happy about the response after a losing week, but need to pay close attention over the next few weeks. They play a massive amount of games on the road this upcoming month, and they don't hold the best record on the road.

The club needs to buckle down and scrape a few series wins on the road before fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
