High school baseball season in North Carolina reaches its conclusion this weekend with state championship series across eight classifications. 

That means double the number of title winners this year after the jump from the four classifications used by the NCHSAA from 1960-2025. Two of last year's champions are back to try for a repeat in the new setup, with North Lincoln (3A last year) facing Seaforth in the 5A finals and East Rutherford (2A in 2025) playing Whiteville for the 3A title. 

The top overall team in the state entering the finals appears to be Providence, which dropped its second game of the season in late February and has won 29 in a row since. The Panthers will face Corinth Holders in the 8A finals as they try to secure their first state title since 2022. 

That was also the last year a school besides T.C. Roberson won the large-school classification, and the Rams' absence from the finals this year is notable. South Caldwell knocked off the three-time defending champions in the third round of the 6A playoffs and will face Southern Lee for the title.

Where to watch North Carolina high school baseball championships

The NCHSAA baseball championship series will not air on traditional television but fans can stream every game live on the NFHS Network. 

The NFHS Network offers two basic plans: an Annual Pass ($6.67 per month) or a Monthly Pass ($13.99 per month). These plans give subscribers the ability to watch live sporting events and create clips of their favorite moments from games. 

North Carolina high school baseball championships schedule 2026

NCHSAA baseball championship series are best-of-three, with Game 1 the first day and Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) the following day. This year the 1A, 3A, 4A and 8A championships will be played at the North Main Athletic Complex in Holly Springs, while the 2A, 5A, 6A and 7A finals are at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
