The Boston Bruins return to TD Garden for a pivotal Game 3 against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Bruins enter Game 3 with significant momentum following their 4-2 victory on Tuesday. Viktor Arvidsson was the catalyst in Game 2, netting two goals, including a third-period insurance marker just 16 seconds into the frame. Morgan Geekie contributed one of the most talked-about goals of the postseason—a backhand flip from center ice that hopped over Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen—while Pavel Zacha rounded out the scoring on the power play.

Thursday night's matchup represents a massive opportunity for Boston to take its first lead of the series with the energy of a raucous TD Garden. Expect a high-intensity battle as the Sabres attempt to reclaim home-ice advantage in what has quickly become a physical and unpredictable first-round clash.

Bruins vs. Sabres live updates, highlights from Game 3

7:46 p.m.: The Bruins kill the power play, and both teams are 0-for-2 on the night.

Buffalo spent the majority of the time in the offensive zone, and Swayman made five saves to keep the game scoreless.

7:44 p.m.: With 3:31 remaining, the Sabres will now have their second power play. 

It's Nikita Zadorov who is called for a tripping penalty.

7:40 p.m.: The Bruins are now 0-for-2 on the power play, with the best opportunities coming on the first one.

It's been an exciting game so far. Just over 17 minutes in, shots are 9-8 in favor of Buffalo. Both goaltenders have made big saves.

7:38 p.m.: Now, the Bruins will have another power play, with Peyton Krebs going to the box for roughing.

7:35 p.m.: Though the Bruins had chances, they couldn't break through on the power play.

Now, both teams are 0-for-1 tonight.

7:34 p.m.: Lyon has kept the Bruins off the board with two incredible saves. The second one, with the puck in the blue paint, Lyon's right pad kept the puck out.

7:31 p.m.: Now, the Bruins will go to the power play. Pastrnak got dragged down, and with the extra skater down Boston gets a few chances, most notably Zacha getting a one-timer to Lyon's left but it's saved.

Out of the commercial, Boston will be on the man advantage for the first time tonight.

7:28 p.m.: Past the halfway point in the first period and the score remains 0-0. Buffalo is still looking for its first goal in the opening frame this series.

Shots are 6-2 in favor of the Sabres.

7:26 p.m.: With the power play coming to a close, Swayman makes a save with his glove on Doan. Shortly after, the power play officially ends, with Boston clearing the zone.

7:24 p.m.: A minute into the power play and Buffalo has had a few opportunities. But, Swayman has stood tall, making a save with his left pad.

7:22 p.m.: The Sabres will have the first power play of the game. Hampus Lindholm will go to the box for a delay of game penalty, where he sent the puck over the boards with no deflection.

7:18 p.m.: Finally, we have a stoppage.

Both teams have had opportunities with a high pace to start the game. At the first commercial break, shots are 3-2.

7:17 p.m.: Noah Ostlund gets a good opportunity, setting up Josh Doan in front but his tip is saved by Swayman.

Six minutes in and there is yet to be a whistle in the game.

7:15 p.m.: David Pastrnak has his first opportunity of the night, picking up a pass from the end wall and going in on Lyon, but it's saved.

Teams each have one shot four minutes in.

7:13 p.m.: Buffalo has the first offensive zone time of the night, getting a shot from the point which is gloved down by Swayman.

In the 2025 regular season, Lyon had a 20-10-4 record with a .907 save percentage and 2.77 GAA. He replaces Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who started Games 1 and 2 in Buffalo.

6:10 p.m.: In Game 2, the Bruins defeated the Sabres 4-2 to even the series. Goals from Viktor Arvidsson (x2), Morgan Geekie and Pavel Zacha were enough as Boston took a 4-0 lead and win in Buffalo.
