The Dallas Cowboys are nowhere near signing George Pickens

The Dallas Cowboys find themselves once again in a familiar position: not being able to sign one of their top stars.
After signing kicker Brandon Aubrey, the Cowboys turned their attention to George Pickens.

It was a good sign that the Cowboys were able to sign Aubrey, and many thought that maybe now they would have no problem signing Pickens.
But as of now, there has been no significant movement with Pickens, according to Adam Schefter.
"They’re nowhere with George Pickens right now. NOWHERE with George Pickens,” said Schefter on Wednesday’s “Get Up.”
In fact, Stephen Jones has already announced that Pickens will play under the franchise tag this year, a tag he has yet to sign, so there's that.
Despite all of this, the Cowboys say they still want Pickens to stay.
"We're so fired up to have George on this football team," owner Jerry Jones said at the Cowboys' predraft news conference. "Obviously, he's been here for a year. We gave up a third-round pick for him, and certainly, he's made tremendous progress in the year he's been here. I think he'd be the first to tell you this is a great situation for him, playing with CeeDee [Lamb] and Dak and in Coach [Brian] Schottenheimer's offense. He loves Coach Schottenheimer and what he brings to the table. But certainly, a conscious decision that we've made."
All of this sounds too familiar. Sounds like what Jones said about Micah Parsons last year before it all fell apart. We will see if history repeats itself.
