I must admit, I don’t have high hopes for this Sunday. Beating the third division’s worst team, even if by seven goals, hasn’t done much to restore any sort of confidence about our ability to do any damage to a team like Manchester City.

In years past, I might’ve said that it would be classic Chels to pull off an amazing performance when it’s least expected, but I fear such tendencies are well in the past now. Add in the part where City are the only team left to possibly deny Arsenal’s first title since the start of the Roman Abramovich era, and I almost wouldn’t mind the defeat here as long as it keeps London Blue.

But maybe that’s a horrible way of thinking. Football is the game, winning is our aim.

Can we at least make a game out of it?

There’s been no change to our injury list, with the likes of Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah still out (though making progress in their recoveries), and Enzo Fernández still unavailable after upsetting the sporting directors’ feelings.

Choose wisely.
