Confirm flights
The entity said it remains in active coordination with aviation authorities, airlines, airports and industry partners to assess how shifting airspace conditions may affect passengers travelling to or from South Africa.
Passengers have been advised to confirm their flight details directly with airlines, booking agents or airport authorities before departing for the airport, as schedules may change at short notice.
Travellers impacted by cancellations or delays are encouraged to engage their airlines or travel agents regarding rebooking options and onward travel assistance.
Disruption period
Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr Shamilla Chettiar said the tourism sector is preparing to support affected visitors during the disruption period.
“During this period of disruption, South African Tourism has no doubt that, in the true South African spirit of ubuntu, the tourism industry will ensure that affected travellers are supported while they await onward journeys to their respective homes,” she said.
She added that the coordinated response reflects South Africa’s reputation for hospitality and responsiveness toward international visitors.
South African Tourism said it will continue monitoring developments and sharing verified updates as airlines and aviation regulators respond to evolving airspace restrictions.
