The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar is a hero to many fans after winning back-to-back MVP titles, but as with any player, there are NBA supporters who dislike him.

However, it looks like some of them are switching sides now.

NBA fans react to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s wholesome moment with kids during Thunder vs Grizzlies

In the third quarter of the game between OKC Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies, Gilgeous-Alexander got on the ball and just as he unleashed a shot, he was fouled.

The Canadian ended up sitting on the floor facing the court, and instead of getting up on his own, he turned around and faced a few kids sitting courtside.

Gilgeous-Alexander reached out to them with his hands and pulled himself up, thus giving those kids a memory they will never forget.

That has impressed many NBA fans, even his ‘haters’, who are all praising what he did.

One wrote: “That was cool even though I hate him.”

Another tweeted: “Never thought I’d say this in my life, but W Shai!”

“Kids have no idea how cool this moment is going to be for them when they look back at this in five years. Honestly, just pure class from SGA,” said another.

Another NBA fan reacted by saying: “He’s actually so goated for this!”

“Most wholesome superstar of all time. They can’t make me hate him,” said another.

The fans are right: Gilgeous-Alexander made those kids’ day, and he seems to have earned a few more fans in the process.

In the game, the Thunder star scored 28 points and recorded three rebounds and four assists, along with a block and a steal.

He is continuing to perform brilliantly for OKC, and even though he seems to be behind Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama in the MVP race, he could climb up very quickly.

The last time a player won the MVP award three years in a row was Larry Bird in 1983, 1984 and 1985. It will be interesting to see if Gilgeous-Alexander can do the same.
