Cleveland Browns defensive end Jared Verse got the WWE experience during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but not as a spectator, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The broadcast showed Verse getting slammed into the ground by Pittsburgh offensive lineman Mason McCormick during an extra-point attempt try.

That must feel good to see for Pittsburgh fans, especially with the way Verse has been talking smack to the Steelers following Cleveland’s 24-24 home victory in the first meeting this season between these two AFC North Division rivals.
McCormick, however, said he wasn’t even aware that it was Verse whom he gave a WWE-style slam.
“I really had no idea who it was,” he said. “Just felt somebody jump, and we’re told to get jumpers’ hands down, and that’s really it,” McCormick said after the game, via Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t have a shiny afternoon under center, passing for just 172 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception on 13/25 pass completions, but Pittsburgh was able to ram the ball down the Browns’ throat.
Running back Jaylen Warren burned rubber for 143 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Rico Dowdle had 56 rushing yards on 15 carries. Tight end Pat Freiermuth, meanwhile, scored a rushing touchdown on a tush push to end the first half.
With their 27-6 win, Pittsburgh ascended to the top of the AFC North Division standings with a 6-2 record. It also gave the team a nice sendoff to a well-deserved bye in Week 9.
