Coach Brian Schotteheimer’s Dallas Cowboys suffered another brutal loss in Week 8, this time at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys as owner Jerry Jones made a disgusted, NSFW two-word statement. Caleb Downs was ruled out with a concussion as Dallas lost a rookie star, on a day when tight end Jake Ferguson was also bitten by the injury bug.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler cited an unnamed source as he revealed the news.

“Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson suffered a low ankle sprain Sunday in Arizona, per source.”

Ferguson exited the game early and the Cowboys missed his versatile blocking and catching skills. He did not catch a pass on the day as Dak Prescott was held under 200 yards. The Cowboys’ run game wasn’t much better on a day when offensive coordinator Klayton Adams’ offense was held under 300 yards.

Dallas got a safety back from injury before the game but it didn’t matter much in the passing game as Gardner Minshew passed for three touchdowns, combining with Jacoby Brissett for nearly 300 yards passing as the Cardinals’ offense took the fight to Schottenheimer’s team.

The Cowboys are now in the same boat as the Cardinals at 3-5 this season and are on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. Their owner Jones’ frustration shows that something needs to change in Big D, but it seems like only unwanted changes are happening including the rough injuries to Downs and Ferguson. Week 8 brings a road game against the Colts that could coincide with a trade or two from both teams.
