Are the Vikings Better Off Moving on From Jauan Jennings or Keeping Him?
· Yahoo Sports
The Minnesota Vikings have been very impressive when it comes to their overall record for the 2026 season as they are now 6-0 following their 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts, but when it comes to the offensive side, there have definitely been several struggles moving the ball consistently.

Speaking of the offensive side, the passing game has been a real struggle, with quarterback Kyler Murray having trouble connecting with his receivers, and in particular wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who has been very quiet so far this season when it comes to contributing as a pass catcher.
On that note, there is one key question concerning Jennings that is worth diving into. Are the Vikings better off moving on from Jauan Jennings or keeping him?
When considering moving on from Jennings, it would likely be through a trade and not being released by Minnesota as they just signed him and would want to get something for him if they really do not feel he is a fit.
For Jennings being a fit in the Vikings offense, it is really tough to tell as the offense really has not shown any kind of consistency through their 6-0 start. As far as Jennings stats go, he has tallied four receptions for 34 yards on eight targets which is not nearly what Minnesota was hoping for when they brought him in through free agency this offseason as they saw him be very productive for the San Francisco 49ers.
On the topic of the 49ers, that was a destination that Bleacher Report named as an ideal landing spot for Jennings, should the Vikings move on from him, as Jennings does have previous experience in San Francisco, and they know how to use him while Minnesota is still figuring that out.
With that said, it is really up to the Vikings as to whether or not they do want to move on from him and what they would ask for in a trade.
Now, it is important to note that Jennings did have his best game of the season thus far in Week 7 against the Colts, as he had two receptions for 34 yards, so it is possible that he and Murray could be getting on the same page and that the Vikings may hold off on moving on from Jennings until closer to the trade deadline if they do feel it is best for them at that point.
Ultimately, whether moving on from Jennings or keeping him is the right move for the Vikings really comes down to if he can be a solution to the offensive struggles or if he is keeping a better option off the field who could help the passing game.
Based on that, Minnesota really does have to figure out what they want to do with Jennings because this offense needs to become more consistent sooner rather than later and if the offense does not improve it is possible that the Vikings could be looking at their first loss of the season very soon because it is not realistic for the defense and the special teams to be asked to play at such a high level every week.
So, as the Vikings move forward, it will be interesting to see if they do try to make Jennings more of a key part in the offense as a potential to the offensive woes, or if they choose to move and try to acquire what they can in a trade to set themselves up for success this season and in future years.
