Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty comment serves up 'bulletin board material' for Jets

One thing you typically don't want to do as an upcoming opponent is to give the guys across from you more motivation. That's exactly what it appears Ashton Jeanty did this week.

The second year back was asked how the Raiders go about getting the running game going. And after giving one of his usual bland responses, he surprising took a shot at some unnamed Jets defenders.

"A couple guys out there that don't really want to tackle, but I'm not going to say names," Jeanty said with a laugh.

As you might expect, his words pretty much immediately made it to the Jets locker room, causing quite a stir.

Jets linebacker Demario Davis first said he had no comment on it, but added that "It's called bulletin board material." which is to say, the team will be using it as motivation when the Raiders come to town on Sunday.

For the most part, Davis and his teammates are making it clear they will not get into verbal sparring in the media about this. Instead focusing on proving it on the field, with Davis adding "I’m big on the game is played inside the white lines.” Which only sounds all the more ominous.

The last thing Jeanty and the Raiders need right now is to offer extra fuel to the fire of an opponent. Especially considering they haven't exactly earned the right to talk trash about another team stopping the run, when the Raiders offense has the second worst rushing numbers in the league right now and Jeanty's 3.1 yards per carry is a big part of that.

He's written some checks with his talk. Now he will have to try and cash them on Sunday.
