On Wednesday evening, the Texas Longhorns released the team’s first SEC-mandated player availability report ahead of Saturday’s matchup against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Austin.

Two players are out for the Longhorns — senior left tackle Trevor Goosby, who underwent successful surgery to repair the patella tendon he tore in last week’s win over the Rebels, and freshman edge Richard Wesley. Goosby is out for the rest of the season, but Wesley could potentially return from his high ankle sprain.

After missing the Ole Miss game with a high ankle sprain, junior edge Colin Simmons was upgraded to questionable on Wednesday, so he’s unlikely to play against Mississippi State.

Listed as probable are senior running back Hollywood Smothers, sophomore wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, and junior wide receiver Cam Coleman. Last weekend, Smothers missed his second game of the season with a shoulder injury. Coleman also sustained a shoulder injury against the Rebels and missed most of the second half.
