Former Celtic manager reveals where Hoops would finish in Premier League

Former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan believes the Hoops and Rangers would struggle to compete in the English Premier League.

The 69-year-old, who guided Celtic to three consecutive Scottish Premiership titles during his four-year spell at Parkhead, has offered a pessimistic assessment of how Scotland’s two biggest clubs would fare south of the border.

Despite Celtic’s history of competing against some of Europe’s biggest clubs, Strachan believes the financial gulf between Scottish and English football would make life particularly difficult.

Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, Strachan said: “They’d struggle at the moment… A good Celtic, a good Rangers, you’re talking near the bottom.”
