NFL predictions: Expecting lots of points and a Packers win over the Cowboys
· Yahoo Sports
Sunday night’s game should be a fun one. The Green Bay Packers host the Dallas Cowboys in a matchup of high-powered offenses, something that Packers fans weren’t so confident in just a few weeks ago. But last weekend, the Packers scored more than 30 points for the first time since last Thanksgiving, and they were giving thanks to Jordan Love and the deep ball as the quarterback threw for more than 350 yards in a 31-7 win over the Chicago Bears.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have a high-powered offense of their own, with an excellent receiver tandem of their own in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Those two wideouts are catching passes from Dak Prescott, and before last Thursday’s surprising 24-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cowboys had put up at least 31 points in each of their previous three games.
It’s no surprise then that the Cowboys and Packers are expected to load up on points when the two teams meet on Sunday Night Football in Week 6. Furthermore, Dallas has allowed at least 20 points in each of their five games so far and 28 or more in three of their five games. The Packers are a bit more inconsistent, with two games of 35+ allowed but three with 17 or fewer. All of those results combined have this week’s expected point total at 52.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
What do APC’s writers think? We’re all taking the over this week. The Packers and Cowboys combined for a whopping 80 points in last year’s tie game in Texas, and there aren’t a whole lot of reasons to expect them to play a low-scoring game this week. But who will win the game? We’re sticking with the home team here and expecting Green Bay to put up big numbers against a Cowboys defense that ranks in the bottom five of nearly every major statistical category.
Here are our picks for Sunday’s game, and let us know what you expect to happen in Week 6 in the comments!
