The New England Patriots are dealing with TreVeyon Henderson’s injury. And it might mean more work for Rhamondre Stevenson. However, the Patriots sought outside help, signing a former Chargers running back, according to a post on X by Adam Schefter.

“Patriots signed RB Hassan Haskins to their practice squad.”

The Patriots are off to a 3-2 start, trailing the first-place Bills by one game in the AFC East.

Patriots will be without RB TreVeyon Henderson this week

Schefter’s earlier post detailed the injury issue for Henderson.

“Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s win over the Raiders that now is expected to sideline him multiple weeks, per league sources. Henderson will not need surgery, and he is regarded as a quick healer, so the Patriots are hoping his return is sooner rather than later.”

It hasn’t been a great start to the season for Henderson. He hasn’t seen a great deal of usage, carrying the ball 42 times in four games. He missed the season opener.

Henderson’s injury makes Stevenson look better from a full-load standpoint. Fantasy football managers will certainly take notice of the possible extra work. The Patriots also have Corey Kiner in their running back room.

The Patriots will take on the division-rival Jets on Sunday. Head coach Mike Vrabel said the team got good news from the possible return of wide receiver AJ Brown for the game, according to Boston.com.

“There is a chance,” Vrabel said when asked if Brown could return for this week against the rival Jets. “Yep, there is.

“Whenever he’ll be back, he should help us. I hope that he’s going to help us, but that remains to be seen yet when he’ll be back. So, we’ll see how he does [Monday] and move from there. I think just helping to add to the production. All you want from the receivers is that they’re a productive group, that they win one-on-one matchups, contested catches, create separation, give quarterbacks confidence and places to go with the football.”
