There had been rumors that the team had gotten a slew of inquiries as to Harrison’s rights for about two weeks now. Even though the NFL trade deadline isn’t until November 11, several key trades have already taken place. Teams wanted to know if Harrison might become available, and Ossenfort pulled the trigger on Sunday.
The one certainty is that Marvin Harrison’s time in Arizona is done. Arizona feels comfortable enough to know it can and will trade Harrison, which is why he will be inactive Sunday. But no Harrison trade will be completed until after Sunday’s games are played. https://t.co/qEGc9qtht0

Harrison is now with his former college quarterback, C.J. Stroud. Houston and Arizona are both 1-4-0.
The Cardinals received second-and sixth-round draft picks, while the Texans got Harrison and a sixth-round pick.
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur stated during his post-game presser:
“I just thought it was in the best interest of this club. I’m not going to totally get into that right now. I really like Marvin Harrison. He’s a good person. I wish him well. We did what we thought was in the best interest of the Cardinals.”
Last year, Michael Wilson took command of the WR1 job away from Harrison who battled several injuries. TE Trey McBride is the team’s alpha dog in targets and receptions, and youngsters Virgil and Jalen Brooks had excellent training camp plus preseason. Basically, it became a logjam in the receiver room, and Harrison seemed to be the odd fit in LaFleur’s system.
Harrison was the fourth-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after harvesting just about every conceivable college receiver award and distinction. He had 116 targets in his rookie campaign with 62 receptions and 885 yards, but since then has been a roller coaster. This year in four games, Harrison has been targeted just 13 times with five receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown grab.
LaFleur added:
“Any guy that does not play to the level that I feel like they’re capable of, I’m always going to put that on me and coaching in general.”
The news caught most by surprise. When asked why LaFleur came to this decision, he stated:
“I’m going to keep the details tight with us.”
Harrison certainly wasn’t QB Jacoby Brissett’s favorite target, or favorite anything for that matter. The two men had a really good relationship in the locker room, but is losing him such a big deal? Brissett wasn’t looking his way in most games.
Right now on the depth chart, Brooks is being penciled in as their “X” receiver spot, who had two receptions for 16 yards against Detroit. Kendrick Bourne led all Cardinals receivers with five receptions for 70 yards. While with Arizona, Harrison had 10 career drops, including one this season.
