What Bam Adebayo had to say about girlfriend A’ja Wilson’s fifth WNBA MVP

A’ja Wilson has now officially been named the 2026 WNBA MVP, and Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has sent her a message in response.

Wilson’s dominance in the MVP race has been unmatched for several years and she has now secured a record-high fifth award.

The Las Vegas Aces star is on a historic MVP run, winning the award three times in a row, with Breanna Stewart (2023) the only other player to clinch the accolade since 2022.

Now, in a clip shared by espnW on Instagram, Wilson’s boyfriend Adebayo has reacted to her latest victory.

In a video that was recorded during an NBA media day, he said: “Shoutout to my sweets, A’ja Wilson, on winning her fifth MVP.

“You know, I took the time out of media day to celebrate you, and that’s what it’s all about, celebrating you as you do, and have done all these amazing things.

“So, congratulations to you and your fifth one.”

Wilson had some stiff competition for the award this year, most notably from Indiana Fever duo Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

Mitchell scored the most points in the regular season, while Clark created a league-high 41.2 points per game prior to the postseason.

But Wilson still did enough to see off the competition and make history in the process.
