23XI Racing has not yet made a formal announcement about Bubba Wallace’s 2027 contract.

But Thursday’s Hardee’s news makes his return look pretty clear.

Bob Pockrass reported that 23XI has announced a multiyear renewal with Hardee’s as a sponsor of the team and Bubba Wallace.

That is more than a general team sponsorship.

Hardee’s is part of the No.23 program with Wallace, so a multiyear renewal means the company is committing to a car and driver it expects to continue supporting beyond the 2026 season.

Wallace had been the one unresolved piece of 23XI’s 2027 driver lineup. Tyler Reddick already signed an extension, while Corey Heim will move into the No.35 full-time next season.

FOX Sports has reported that both 23XI and Wallace have indicated he is set to race for the team in 2027, even though the team has not formally announced a new contract.

Now Hardee’s has also committed to a multiyear deal involving Wallace.

Hardee’s returned to NASCAR in 2026 and joined 23XI as a primary partner of Bubba Wallace and the No.23 Toyota.

So this is not simply a sponsor renewing with 23XI and waiting to see who drives the car.

The partnership was built around Wallace.

That is why the latest announcement effectively fills in an important piece of the picture for 2027. There may not be a separate headline saying “Bubba Wallace signs extension with 23XI,” but a multiyear sponsorship tied to Wallace and his No.23 entry strongly indicates that the program is continuing with him.

The official driver announcement may still come later.

But at this point, it would be surprising for 23XI to promote a multiyear Wallace sponsorship while planning to put another driver in the No.23.

The biggest question surrounding Wallace’s 2027 future appears to be moving closer to an answer.

The contract announcement has not come yet, but the sponsorship commitment has.
