Halmar-Friesen Racing will field two tribute paint schemes dedicated to Busch’s Truck Series days. Busch was the winningest driver in Truck Series with 69 career wins. His final victory came at Dover Motor Speedway on May 15 of this year, just six days before his tragic death.

The Craftsman Truck Series Ecosave 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. ET.

A Look at Halmar-Friesen Racing’s Kyle Busch Tribute Schemes

Stewart Friesen, driver of the No. 52 Halmar-Friesen Racing Toyota, will sport an iconic Kyle Busch Truck Series team. Friesen’s No. 52 machine is painted up to resemble Busch’s No. 51 Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Toyota, one that “Rowdy” drove to numerous victories in the late 2000s.

“Honoring a legend at Charlotte. #Rowdy,” Friesen wrote via X.

Leland Honeyman Jr., driver of the No. 62 HFR Toyota, will also field a special tribute scheme dedicated to the late NASCAR great. Honeyman Jr. will pilot a livery dedicated to Busch’s No. 18 TRAXXAS Toyota, one synonymous with Busch’s early days of Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2010.

“A #rowdy throwback for [Leland Honeyman Jr.] and the No. 62 at [Charlotte Motor Speedway],” Friesen wrote via X.

Many tributes to Kyle Busch will be on display throughout the NASCAR tripleheader weekend at Charlotte. The biggest tribute will be the Kyle Busch Celebration of Life, which takes place Friday night at 8 p.m. ET at the Charlotte Motor Speedway following the Truck Series race.

The event will feature special guest speakers, including play-by-play announcer Mike Joy, car owner Joe Gibbs, and NASCAR Cup Series drivers Christopher Bell, Noah Gragson, Daniel Suarez, Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon. Busch’s widow, Samantha, will also be in attendance to honor her late husband.

Kyle Busch’s Lasting Impact on The Truck Series

Kyle Busch’s influence on the Craftsman Truck Series spans far beyond his record 69 career victories.

From 2010-2023, Kyle Busch Motorsports was one of the most formidable teams in the series and developed some of NASCAR’s top stars today. Current Cup Series drivers Erik Jones and Christopher Bell delivered Truck Series titles driving for KBM on their way to the Cup Series.

Bubba Wallace, Noah Gragson and William Byron are among other current Cup drivers who found great success driving for KBM, which developed them into the drivers they are today.

Both as a driver and an owner, Kyle Busch left a lasting impact on the NASCAR Truck Series by pushing his competition to the limit and helping grow the next generation of the sport’s stars.
