The next Kylian Mbappe might just be Liverpool's as Julian Ward closes in.
Once upon a time Jurgen Klopp was sitting in a private jet alongside the French superstar. Mbappe and his mother were convinced by the German and his pitch.

It looked like, Liverpool might just be about to pull off the biggest deal of the century.
However, even though Mbappe's mother wanted her son to sign for Liverpool, he wanted to stay in his home country and thus accepted Paris Saint Germain's pitch instead.
What it meant is that Liverpool were robbed off a generational talent, and what might have been the most deadly front three of all time.
Just imagine what a pairing of Mbappe, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane might have done.
Julian Ward's exciting plans for Liverpool
The Reds now have a new sporting director which means things are going to be a little different around Anfield.
Ward is coming in to replace Richard Hughes, who may have signed a lot of exciting players but his recruitment was under a lot of fire during his two years at the club.
Ward on the other hand comes with a lot of experience. He's been in this job before although ultimately left the role as Jurgen Klopp seized more control of recruitment towards the final few years of his time at Liverpool.
Since then Ward has left and then returned to Liverpool and has done a lot of good work. He's been working on finding under the radar markets and unearthing untapped gems, which is now what he is planning to do as sporting director of Liverpool.
In the process, he will be taking the Reds back to their old way of operating.
Next Mbappe is Paris Brunner and he's Liverpool's
Now the Reds' scouts are starting to fall in love with an exciting new German attacker. Just like with Florian Wirtz, Liverpool are closely monitoring the progress of Brunner.
Anfield Watch understands Liverpool's scouts have attended most of Monaco's games this season to watch Brunner in action.
It is also understood Liverpool's representatives have held meetings with Brunner's father over the course of the summer, with contact emerging when the star scored at Anfield in a pre-season friendly.
Not since Mbappe, has an attacker started as prolifically as Brunner at Monaco, he has eight goals in his first nine games for club and country.
With his ability to play across the front three and as a no.10, Brunner feels like the perfect next piece in the Reds jigsaw in attack.
Which is why, given the fact that contact has been made and that Brunner is in such exciting form, Ward is likely about to bring him to Anfield, possibly as early as January.
