Bucs head coach Todd Bowles explains ‘what is going on with this franchise’ after 10th loss in 12 games

Todd Bowles answered some heavy questions after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ loss against the Minnesota Vikings, which means they have now suffered three straight defeats this season.

To add to their misery, QB Baker Mayfield suffered a thumb injury on his throwing hand during the 23-16 loss against the Vikings.
With the loss on Sunday, the Buccaneers have suffered 10 defeats in 12 games, which has led to growing frustration among fans in Tampa.
Head coach Todd Bowles however, does not want to point the blame for this run on anyone.
Bowles questioned on Tampa’s poor run of form stretching to last season
The Buccaneers had started last season completely different from how they have started their campaign this time around.
They had a 5-1 record, and looked like a solid football team. However, from that point on, they have only managed three wins, with their last one coming on the final game of last season against the Carolina Panthers.
This means that in the last 14 NFL games, Bowles has only led Tampa to three wins. After the loss against the Vikings, a reporter questioned Bowles about this dip in form.
“Bucs fans are wondering, what is going on with this franchise, 10 losses in 12 games, what is your first explanation for that?” the reporter questioned.
“I don’t have an explanation for that, we just have to do more and play better,” the coach replied.
“To a man, to a coach and everybody else, we’ve got to play better and we’ve got to do more.”
The reporter pushed back on Bowles and reminded the HC that this was a problem continuing from last year.
He then said, “We understand that, but it’s this season now; nothing counts from last year, no matter who you are.
“We win as a team, we lose as a team. We’re not going to throw anybody under the bus.”
Tampa had high hopes for this season, as they signed QB Baker Mayfield to a three-year $165 million extension and Defensive Tackle Vita Vea to a one-year $24 million deal.
Although they have not had the start they expected, the team can still turn things around and make a push to win the division.
Tampa’s next test will be against the Green Bay Packers. They have a great chance to get their first win on the board, as Green Bay faces them after their tough loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
