Kansas State report card: Did the Wildcats fail at Cincinnati?
· Yahoo Sports
CINCINNATI — Kansas State might want to hide this report card from Mom and Dad. The Wildcats' 31-26 loss at Cincinnati was ugly.
Visit truewildgame.com for more information.
The Wildcats at least have an idle week to prepare for Houston on Oct. 10, which could be their toughest test of the year.
Here's how we would grade the Wildcats after their game against Cincinnati on Saturday night.
OFFENSE GRADE: D
Concerns along Kansas State's offensive line are legitimate.
DEFENSE GRADE: F
Entering the season, there were fears Kansas State's run defense might struggle, and Cincinnati exposed it.
SPECIAL TEAMS GRADE: C
After doing a good job at limiting returns on kickoffs and punt returns, the punt team allowed the Bearcats to return a ball 36 yards, setting up a Bearcats touchdown.
COACHING GRADE: D
The defensive adjustments were non-existent. The offense had no answers for the looks the Bearcats threw at them.
GAME MVP: Uhhh....
Jayden Bryant made a good play late, but it was immediately wiped away. Other than that, it's hard to find someone who played really well and didn't end up shooting the Wildcats in the foot.
OVERALL TEAM GRADE: D
This was ugly, and it could be the sign of more to come, now that the Wildcats are playing tougher opponents. Collin Klein and Co. have a lot to fix over the next two weeks.
