This, of course, comes on the back of a couple of difficult years that saw the White Sox fail to make the postseason.
But when asked if he had anything to do with the MLB team’s resurgence, the Pope gave a no comment response.
Pope Leo XIV says ‘great things happen in Chicago’ after White Sox question
A reporter asked the Pope: “I’m sure you’re pretty aware that last night, the Chicago White Sox made the playoffs.
“Two years ago, they had the worst record in baseball’s history. Some called it a miracle. Do you have anything to do with that?”
The Pope responded: “No comment,” before adding: “Great things happen in Chicago.”
The Pope isn’t the only notable figure to speak about the White Sox making the playoffs this week either.
Former US President Barack Obama sent his congratulations to the Chicago outfit after they secured a place in the postseason as well.
Meanwhile, the White Sox have since picked up a 6-1 win over the Colorado Rockies and will play them two more times to round out their regular campaign.
