Brahma Kumaris, Malad West, felicitated Justice Sunil B. Shukre, Chairman of the Maharashtra Lokayukta Institution, on his appointment to the post.
Sister Nirja, In-charge of Brahma Kumaris Malad West, felicitated Justice Shukre with a memento, bouquet, safa and shawl, and applied a tilak while conveying her greetings and good wishes for his new responsibility.

She wished Justice Shukre clarity and purity of intellect and expressed the hope that he would take decisions with wisdom and righteousness for the benefit of society.
The programme began with a Ganesh Stuti presented by classical singer Shivani Dige.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Shukre explained the role and functioning of the Maharashtra Lokayukta Institution and highlighted its expanded scope and powers under the Maharashtra Lokayukta Act, 2023.
He said the Lokayukta had been strengthened as an institution and has powers to investigate complaints concerning various segments of government administration. He encouraged citizens with genuine grievances relating to government departments or public administration to approach the Lokayukta for appropriate redressal.
Justice Shukre also explained the nature of matters that can be brought before the institution and its role in addressing citizens’ grievances.
Justice Sunil B. Shukre, a former Judge of the Bombay High Court, was sworn in as Chairman of the Maharashtra Lokayukta Institution on August 25, 2026, under the Maharashtra Lokayukta Act, 2023.
The programme concluded with an interaction with Justice Shukre, with those present extending their best wishes to him for his new responsibility and service to the people of Maharashtra.
