Otters using old and new school methods prepping for a brand new opponent

EVANSVILLE, In. (WEHT) -- Many things can change in a decade. Let's look back at 2016. The first season of stranger things premiered on Netflix, apple released the I-phone seven, and the Evansville Otters won the frontier league championship. A lot has changed since then. But there's a saying that goes the more things change the more they stay the same. Which is certainly what Otters fans are hoping as they try to win their first frontier league championship since 2016.
The Otters will be taking on the Ottawa Titans in a five-game series. First two at home then the rest on the road. Evansville rolled back into town today after beating the Washington Wild Things 9-6 in the winner take all game five of the conference championship. Field manager Andy McCauley says the team had the day off, but the staff is already prepping for the challenges the titans pose. The otters haven't played Ottawa all year, but McCauley says they won't be going in completely blind.

"Luckily my three assistant coaches with Billy Easley, TJ, Zarewicz, Max Peterson are very adept at, pulling from the Trackman data, the video clips that we got from you guys, as well as Home Team Network, to give us a scouting report of what we're facing. I've reached out to some of my buddies that that manage on the other side that did face Ottawa, and I get a verbal scouting report from them, and that's how we used to have to do it," said McCauley, "But, the new technology is the way of the world. I think we'll be prepared just from an analytical and video, replay standpoint. No one does it better than those three guys. So, I'm pretty confident we'll be prepared.
Game one of the series against the Titans is set for tomorrow at 6:35 p-m in historic Bosse Field.
